"Just to paint . . . ."

"Just to paint is great fun. The colors are lovely to look at and delicious to squeeze out. Matching them, however crudely, with what you see is fascinating and absolutely absorbing." - Winston Churchill
My current emphasis is the still life. I choose to paint everyday objects with interesting light and shadows, bringing drama to these simple objects. I also paint local (SE Arizona) wildlife, and Southwestern architecture and landscapes. I try to put the beauty and charm I see in the wildlife, landscapes, and objects around us into my paintings. I want to paint the things that attract me in such a way that others can see what I loved about a scene or object.
